Will’s Speeches

Watch or listen to speeches made by MP Will Greaves

The Crisis in Palestine

Listen to MP Will Greaves speak about the crisis in Palestine at the Canadian Club of Victoria. Speaking at the event, MP Greaves said:

"Before I began my remarks, I was confronted about Canada’s role in Gaza. In my speech, I made my position clear: Canada must hold those responsible for war crimes against the Palestinian people to account — and we must act.

"Many of my MP colleagues and I have supported a stronger Canadian stance, and welcomed the recent decision to recognize the State of Palestine at the UN next month and commit $300M in humanitarian aid for Gaza. This is not the end of the work, but is a critical step forward.

"This is the first in a series of clips from my speech, which also covered climate change, the war in Ukraine, the decline of American democracy, and what it’s like to be a new MP. Watch for the other clips from the speech in the days ahead."

The Decline of American Democracy

On a day when Donald Trump hosted a war criminal on US soil, this clip from MP Greaves' speech to the Canadian Club addresses another urgent challenge: the decline of American democracy, what it means for Canada, and how we navigate a future alongside an unstable and unreliable neighbour.

The Urgent Crisis of Climate Change

In 1988, Canada helped lead the world in recognizing climate change as a threat second only to nuclear war. Decades later, the science is clearer, the stakes are higher, and the impacts are here.

At my recent talk at the Canadian Club, I explained why I believe climate action must remain front and centre in Parliament: not optional — but essential for our health, our economy, and our future on this coast. We must do better, we must do more, and we must do it faster.
